Judge Michael R. Bluff
Yavapai County Superior Court, Division 7

Born in Southern California, Judge Bluff moved to Arizona in 1974 where he completed high school at Mingus Union High School in Cottonwood.  He attended college at Northern Arizona University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology.  From there, he traveled to Texas where he attended Texas A&M University, earning a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering.     

After working for many years in the construction industry, Judge Bluff returned to law school in 1989, receiving his degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.  Over the next 13 years, he maintained a general law practice in the Verde Valley while remaining active in the management of his family’s general engineering construction business. 

In 2002, Judge Bluff was appointed as a part-time Pro-Tem Judge for the Justice Courts and several Magistrate Courts throughout Yavapai County.  In 2005, he was appointed Presiding Judge for the Town of Camp Verde Magistrate Court. 

In 2008, Governor Napolitano appointed Judge Bluff to the newly created Division 7 of the Yavapai County Superior Court.  Division 7 is located in the Verde Valley Judicial District in Camp Verde, AZ.  Judge Bluff’s current case assignment includes civil, probate and domestic matters, along with appeals from limited jurisdiction courts. 

Judge Bluff served on the Clarkdale Town Council from 1996 to 2004, twice serving as the Town’s Mayor.  During that time, he was also a member of the Executive Committee for the League of Arizona Cities & Towns and is a former Board and Executive Committee Member for the Arizona Town Hall.  Judge Bluff is active with the Verde Valley Teen Court program and the annual high school Mock Trial Regional Competition in Prescott.              

Judge Bluff is married and the proud father of four children.
